It’s Screed Season Again!
It is time once again, at least in the northern part of the country, to lay a little concrete! I have passed by several sidewalks that are formed up and ready for concrete. I have also noticed that many small and large companies still use the old 2X4 to screed off wet concrete.
After looking through several “Youtube” videos… I have noticed the same thing.
What is your preferred method of “striking off” wet concrete?
Also… I have noticed a tendency to use very wet concrete. Doesn’t wet concrete make weaker concrete when it drys?

Luke,
Thanks for the comment. We are never afraid to hear from the “competition”. While the Black Beauty has it’s market, we feel the TTI Screedright Pro has it’s market as well. We are a small company that likes to deal directly with our customers. We make a specialty tool for companies small and large looking to save on time, money, and manpower. Our screed ships in one box and can utilize any length 2 X 4 from 4 to 14 feet. The use of a 2 X 4 is great because they are available virtually anywhere in the world with out the extreme cost of shipping an aluminum screed bar, not to mention the high cost of each size aluminum screed bar as well. Spalling and scaling are also kept at bay with a wooden board by allowing the bleed water to escape the surface of the slab.
Concrete bonds to anything. The “trick” to keeping it from bonding is to wash the surface of your aluminum bar before it cures… the same when using wood… unless you want to use the wood for a form board on your next pour.
Also, we checked out your new site… looks like your dealing Black Beauty.
We have found that most dealers have never used the product they are selling.
We are always looking for photo’s of good concrete work.
Luke,
OUCH… we checked out the price of your “black beauty”!!! Why not buy a TTI Screedright Pro and have some beer money left over!
